Welcome to East Van Barter

Bartering is the act of trading goods or services without using money. This practice has been around for centuries and is based on the idea of exchanging items of equal value. Bartering can be a useful way to obtain goods or services that you need without spending money, and it can also help build relationships within a community.

Barter Town is a fictional trading post in the Mad Max universe, specifically featured in the movie “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.” The town is run by Aunty Entity, a ruthless leader who rules with an iron fist and enforces a strict code of conduct. Barter Town is a place where commodities, supplies, and services are exchanged through bartering rather than traditional currency. It is a lawless and dangerous place, filled with scavengers, mercenaries, and outcasts trying to survive in the post-apocalyptic wasteland. The town’s economy is based on trade and negotiation, with deals often sealed with a handshake or a verbal agreement. Barter Town is a pivotal location in the Mad Max series, representing the harsh reality of life after the collapse of civilization.

“Gold is the money of kings, silver is the money of gentlemen, barter is the money of peasants, but debt is the money of slaves…” Norm Franz
